I. Introduction to Huaiyin Institute of Technology (HYIT)
HYIT was established in 1958, which is located in Huai’an, a renowned national historical and cultural city in Jiangsu Province. It’s also the birthplace of Zhou Enlai, the first premier of the People’s Republic of China. It is a university with distinguishing application characteristics under Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and a Master’s degree awarding unit. HYIT has modern libraries, complete sports facilities, student activity centers, and advanced teaching equipment and laboratories. There are more than 23,000 registered full-time students, including more than 1300 post-graduate students. HYIT has more than 1,300 faculty members, including about 700 postgraduate supervisors. The school has 6 provincial key disciplines during the 14th Five Year Plan period and 2 disciplines in the top 1% of ESI global rankings. HYIT actively promotes the academic internationalization and has established friendly and cooperative relations with 60 colleges and universities in 22 countries and Taiwan region. It has initiated joint undergraduate programs and postgraduate programs with them. It has 2 brand majors of International Talents Training in the colleges and universities of Jiangsu Province, 2 Joint International Research Laboratory programs, 1 key platform construction program of overseas high-level talents introduction and 3 foreign expert studios. The School of International Education was founded in 2016, awarded by Jiangsu Province Advanced Group for International Students Education many times, and nearly 500 international students from 42 countries have been enrolled and cultivated since then.
II. Study Mode & Duration
The mode of study is full-time and the normal duration is 4 years. The flexible duration is from 3 years to 6 years. The normal duration of Upgrading Undergraduate Program is 2 years, and its flexible duration is from 2 years to 3 years. HYIT implements the autumn enrollment. The autumn semester starts from September.

VI. Introductions of Programs
1. International Economics and Trade
This major is affiliated with the Faculty of Business and aims to cultivate specialized talents with solid basic knowledge in economics, international economics and trade, mastery of basic theories and methods, familiarity with international economic and trade rules, understanding and grasping the operating mechanisms and development laws of economy and trade, and possessing the ability to explore international market and do international business. After graduation, students can engage in practical trade and trade management work in export-oriented enterprises, governments, foreign economic and trade departments, and multinational corporations.
2. Social Work
This major is affiliated with the School of Humanities, which cultivates high-quality application-oriented talents who master knowledge in social work, sociology, anthropology, and other fields, have a solid theoretical foundation and practical ability in social work, with an innovative spirit, good communication skills, and international perspective, and are able to work in multidisciplinary teams and cross-cultural environments. After graduation, students can engage in scientific research, management, and service in the fields of sociology and social work.
V. Application Requirements
1. The applicant must be a non-Chinese citizen holding a valid foreign passport. The original citizens of Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan must hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for more than 4 years (inclusive), and have a record of actual residence abroad for more than 2 years within the last 4 years (before April 30 of the enrollment year) (Actually living abroad for 9 months in a year can be counted as one year, subject to entry and exit signatures).
2. Applicants for four-year undergraduate programs must have a high school diploma or above and excellent academic performance. Applicants for upgrading undergraduate program must be this year’s graduates of relevant majors with excellent academic performance in the junior colleges and meet the graduation requirements.
3. Applicants should be over 18 years old but not over 25 years old, physically and mentally healthy, and well behaved. (For boarders under the age of 18 and whose parents do not resident in China, a formal power of attorney from their parents is required.)
4. Language requirements:
(1) For Chinese-instruction programs, applicants should have HSK 4 or above certificate. If without HSK4, applicants may attend Chinese language courses at this university.
(2) For English-instruction programs, applicants must have IELTS 5.5 or above, TOEFL or IBT 75 or above or other equivalent English proficiency certificate. If the pre-courses use English as the medium of instruction, relevant certificate that the teaching language is English shall be provided. But the applicants whose native language is English do not need to provide certificate of English proficiency as mentioned above.
5. Applicants should voluntarily abide by Chinese laws, regulations and school rules and regulations, know China and love China and have not been subject to any disciplinary action or criminal punishment.
6. Fresh students who fail to obtain relevant graduation diplomas on time will have their admission qualifications automatically cancelled.

VIII. Application Examination and Admission
