2026 Application Guide for Undergraduate Program of China-Thailand Zheng He College

 

Ι. Introduction to the Universities

(1) Introduction to Huaian University (HAU)

Huai’an University (HAU, formerly known as Huaiyin Institute of Technology), founded in 1958, is located in Huai’an City, Jiangsu Province—the hometown of Premier Zhou Enlai and a renowned historical and cultural city in China. As a government-run university with distinctive applied features under Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, it is currently a master’s degree-conferring unit, a construction unit of Jiangsu Province’s first-class applied undergraduate universities, and a project construction unit for doctoral degree authorization. HAU has modern libraries, complete sports facilities, student activity centers, as well as advanced teaching equipment and laboratories. Currently, there are over 24,000 registered full-time students, including more than 1,500 post-graduate students. HAU has more than 1,400 full-time faculty members, including about 700 post-graduate supervisors. The school has 6 provincial key disciplines during the 14th Five Year Plan period and 6 disciplines in the top 1% of ESI global rankings. HAU actively promotes the academic internationalization and has established friendly and cooperative relations with 60 colleges and universities in 22 countries and Taiwan region. It has initiated joint undergraduate programs and postgraduate programs with them. It has two brand majors of International Talents Training in the colleges and universities of Jiangsu Province, 2 Joint International Research Laboratory programs, 1 key platform construction program of overseas high-level talents instruction and 3 foreign expert studios. The School of International Education (SIE) was founded in 2016, awarded by Jiangsu Province Advanced Group for International Students Education many times, and it has enrolled and educated nearly 500 international students from 42 countries, including both undergraduates and postgraduates. In 2024, the university, in collaboration with Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (Thailand) and other higher education institutions, together with Pengding Holdings, applied for and was selected as the project implementing entity for Jiangsus Zheng He College initiative.

(2) Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT)

Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, commonly known as RMUTT, is a national university directly under the Thai Ministry of Education. Its main campus is located in the Thanyaburi District of Pathum Thani Province, Thailand, within the Bangkok metropolitan area, spanning more than 1,800 mu (approximately 296 acres). It is a high-level, comprehensive university that combines higher education and scientific research. RMUTT comprises 12 faculties (colleges) and 16 administrative departments, offering 117 undergraduate programs and more than 60 masters and doctoral programs. The university employs over 1,200 faculty and staff members and has more than 26,000 students.

 

II. Study Mode & Duration

HAU and RMUTT collaborate on a 2+2 joint degree program, with a standard duration of 4 years. Students spend their first 1-2 years at RMUTT, followed by the remaining 3-4 years at HAU.

IV. Projects Categories

(1) Dual Degree Program

Upon meeting the admission criteria of both universities and fulfilling the graduation requirements of HAU along with the degree conferral standards of both universities, the student will be awarded HAUs undergraduate diploma, and a bachelors degree certificate from both HAU and RMUTT.

(2) Single Degree Program

Students who only meet HAU’s admission requirements and, at graduation, fulfill both the graduation and degree-conferral requirements will be awarded HAU’s undergraduate diploma and bachelor’s degree certificate.

 

V. Application Requirements

1. Applicants must be Thai citizens and be no more than 25 years old. Dual-degree applicants must have been admitted to RMUTT and pass the entrance examination of HAU, meeting its admission requirements. Single-degree applicants only need to pass the entrance examination of HAU and meet its admission requirements.

2. For English-instruction programs, applicants must have IELTS 5.5 or above, TOEFL 75 or above or Duolingo 85 or above or other equivalent English proficiency certificate. If the pre-courses use English as the medium of instruction, the above certificates of English proficiency are not required, but relevant certificate that the teaching language is English shall be provided. For applicants whose native language is English, certificates of English proficiency as mentioned above are not required. For Chinese-instruction programs, applicants should have HSK 4 or above certificate.

 

VI. Application Documents

3. Admission letter or proof of enrollment from RMUTT (dual-degree program). For single-degree applicants, a high school certificate is required. If the applicant is a student in school, a pre-graduation certificate with official seal issued by the school where the applicant is studying must be submitted. Documents not in Chinese or English shall be attached with notarized Chinese / English translations.

4. High school academic transcript. The transcript must bear an official seal. If the original is not in Chinese or English, it shall be attached with notarized Chinese / English translations.

5. Chinese proficiency / English proficiency transcript or certificate

7. Statement of financial support

8. Deposit certificate (5,000 US dollars or more);

9. Physical examination report within 6 months

(Download the Foreign Physical Examination Form and go to a regular local hospital to complete the examination. The form must to be written in Chinese or English and the official seal must to be stamped on the photo.)

(1) Documents not in Chinese or English shall be attached with notarized Chinese / English translations.

(2) The files uploaded must be colored scan copies of the original ones. The original copy should be provided for future reference at the beginning of the academic term.

 

VII. Application Procedure and Admission

(2) Review and Admission

4. Issue formal Admission Notice and Visa Application Form for Foreign Students in China (Form JW202)

5. Register at the school at the specified time (in September of each year, the specific date is subject to the admission notice)

 

VIII. Fees for Studying at HAU (RMB)

1. Tuition: 15,000 yuan/year

2. Teaching Materials: 800 yuan/year (to be paid after registration)

3. Accommodation fee:

(1) 2,600-3,000 yuan/person/year (double room or three-person suite with two bedrooms and one living room);

(2) 4,000-6,000 yuan/person/year (single room)

4. Comprehensive medical insurance: 600 yuan/person/year

5. Enrollment deposit: 3,000 yuan (no refund, can be offset against on accommodation fee and other fees after enrollment)

 

IX. Scholarships

Students who pass the assessment and are admitted to Zhenghe College of HAU may apply for HAUs Academic Scholarship during their studies there, which provides a tuition waiver. Costs for accommodation, insurance, textbooks, and visa fees are the students responsibility.
